Title: new cb1100
Post by: Bitsa (Ralph Wright - RIP) on January 31, 2013, 07:07:48 PM
Hi Guys,
My local rag is very excited about the new CB1100.Modelled on old and new, looks to me like a CB900 but with retro styling. It is on the Honda UK site but not here in France yet .Anybody heard anything? The pics on the Honda site look good but I see f2 front end 900 engine, shiny 4 into 1 exhaust and some 70s bits.Like I said any words about circulating on this?
Cheers

It was tested in MCN last week. Don't be fooled by the retro looks. It's a thoroughly modern bike (if air cooled and tubular framed!)
Good value too.

Thanks Steve for that.Looked at the videos etc not bad I think but here they will be nearly 11,000 euros bit steep.OK it was 5 years ago I bought my XJR1300 but that was under 10,000.Anyway cheers.

Hi Guys
I had a run on one in aussie, pondered about it for days afterwards, having cb1300s-I wanted to compare them. Entirely diff bikes- I think that honda is trying to appeall to the born again biker from the 70s/80s. The good news --brakes are excellent, motor very laid back and certainly made me grin. It just looked as if someone run out of ideas when it was designed, it is basic looking but maybe thats the appeal.
regards neal

Looks quite good in the test pictures.....now if someone were to make a replica K-series 4-into-4 exhaust for that bike then I think they'd sell alot more of them!

:o i had a look at two in the local bike shop colours red and white ,they dont look that clever and very expensive, i cant see me ever getting one ,even the winged logo on the tank looks daft, i cant see the point of making modern bikes look old, be it a bonnieville, a rocket 3, or a commando,i say if you want a bike to look old, then HONDA should make a old one,its not as if they dont know how or better still ,start making spares for the old bikes ,they will  corner the market easily  ;) they should stick to making retro's like the CB1300 a great bike , so ill be sticking to my 1200 BANDIT K6 , i got five old HONDA'S anyway 8)

Hi folks,

I've ordered one (Red tank), will be delivered on Saturday 30th, very much looking forward to the delivery & ride (unless its raining)
I thought the specifcation/Honda build quality for £8,950.00 was very good, also ordered a genuine Honda chrome luggage rack with the bike £347.58!!!

Big Al.
Please lots of photos and let us know what you think.Saw one at our Niort show last weekend not sure what I think but did like it don't know if I would buy one without a test run but that was not on offer. They cost 11000 euros here my xjr1300 was cheaper so I am hoping to hear your thoughts on this.
Cheers
