Hi All,
The rebuild is going slow, but I am hoping that warmer weather will give me the urge to get a move on, at least the engine is now in the frame and the carbs are on
-
I'm envious of those carbs :-)
Won't it be easier to fit the connecting tubes with them off the bike though?
-
Hi Dan,
The inlet pipes are on banjo's, so they come of easy enough, the petrol tap is modified with two outlets to feed the carbs from both ends, and the rest are joined together, the vents will be flushed of because of space.

Hi All,
The rebuild progresses slowly, and I am using the 1980's original cafe racer mods rather than completely revamping, I have however replaced the comstars with spoked wheels, and although some do not like them, it has been done with comstar hubs. I think the beauty of cafe racers is the ability to use ones own ideas to create something original, and not be tied to the thoughts and conventions of others

Boy that red is something, like it
Cheers

Hi Bitsa,
Tank and side covers to match, as for the hubs, why not, at least someone will see me coming, if the old bones will sit the pegs and bars when it is finished---------ken
-
Just spent ten minutes stairring at those hubs and I still can't say wether I like or dislike them
It's different I'll give it that
Different isn't a bad thing that's what people tell me anyway ???

Hi All,
Still going slowly, but basic electric bits now fitted except the battery, that will be more or less last. but here we go, bite the bulllet (about 50 or 60 of them) and the start of wiring it up, old type car ignition switch and after market other switches, just one wire at a time.
