I have been looking for an engine enamel that matches the orininal colour on my CB750F1 crankcases for quite some time, then saw an address on the SOHC/4 Owners club forum. This led me to US Automotive who sell VHT engine emanel in the UK. It is heatproof and fuel proof. I ordered 2 cans via their website which duly arrived within 3 days. It costs

It covers really well, but you must make sure all the oil and grease are removed or it bubbles.

Have not used the paint yet as I am busy renovating my daughter new house so the bike is on the back burner. Have the cylinder head off at the moment to get some broken studs fixed so I will try the paint on that first and report back

Dennis,
Hi... I have compiled a list of UK riders for ride out info etc, etc. If you would like to be added please email me with the area you are from and an email address and I will add you. This is not a junk email list and is private and only for us keen 'older bike' riders.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Jim,
E mail sent, have finished the house renovation and am now back to Honda renovation.
Have completely stripped the bike, removed the head and barrels, have sprayed the cylinder head, barrels, oil pan and oil filter housing looking good so far.
Sprayed the parts left to dry over night and then baked in the oven for 1 hour at 200oc. The hardest part was removing the old paint and the oxidised aluminium, lots of work with the Dremel required, even though the head and barrels were soaked in a bath for 2 days at my local car engine shop.
Would attach photos if I knew how !
Cheers

Hi Spitfire,
I had to disable the uploading of images to the forum, due to a security hole some script kiddie found and used it to as mail forwarder and a DOS attack. I had 2 gigs of data transfered in under 3 days.
Anyway, as a registered user you can create your own gallery and add photos in there, I would ask that you don't abuse it.(No nudies, or abusive) etc If not I can upload them for you, I always open to helping members out.
Regards and ride Safe

Just a warning, the VHT paint that I used is great, BUT I overcooked the cylinder barrels (2 hours at 200oc instead of 1 hour) and it came out a lovely metallic gold colour ! Have just re masked and sprayed it !
