hi i just ordred a DYNA electronic ignition to get rid of the old points and 2 new Dyna ignition coils with 3ohm primary , i was wondering if i need to go for different plugs and if it will run to hot, any help is greatly appreciated thancks
-
I don't think the engine will run much hotter the new ignition and coils will be more efficient, and burn more of the fuel in the chamber. I've not heard of anyone needing to change plug grade.

I agree with John.
The Dyna kit will make it easier to start and run more efficiently - I've never heard of anyone having to swap plugs.

thanx appreciate the help i just got it all together started right up but it still willl not run on all four cylinders and i have spark and compression and the carbs are super clean doesnt really make sense have to dig deeper lol

Is it intermittant on 3 cylinders or all the time? If you have fuel (plugs are wet?) then it could be a plug or cap that's breaking down under the new (higher) voltages.

i cleaned the carbs again and shes running on all 4 now but its really hard to start when cold i have to change my jets i already got a 130 main in it but i tihnk i need a bigger idle jet cause she got the induvidual air filters and a 4 into 1 and a perfromance cam and the 836 kit, it has the newer style carbs with the pressed in idle jets instead of the threaded ones having a hard time finding ones to fit, has anyone ever drilled them??

one last question lol anyone know anytihng about the late carburators with the Acclerator Pump if it is need and how it works?

With all those performance goodies you may well have to rejet significantly.
First check that all four choke butterflies are working as it is not unknown for these to jam (or even to have been reassemble incorrectly ;) ) If they don't all close, starting will be difficult even in standard form.
Acc pumps were fitted on the later carbs to aid quick (snap) throttle performance as the carbs were leaned out so much that snapping open the throttle would cause the engine to bog.
Try posting this question on www.sohc4.net/forums as there are some guys there with all thew goodies (like you) and who have experience of rejetting and drilling carbs.
