Title: Pictures not uploading to posts

when adding pictures to posts, they appear to upload okay, but then when viewing the post all the pictures appear as blank boxes with an "X" top left. See this post for a recent example http://www.sohc.co.uk/index.php?topic=5822.msg29130;topicseen#new

and nothing happens

Am I doing something wrong?
