Hi everyone
I am restoring a 1975 Honda cb400/4 and need to know what the red paint code or name is. as the bike as been painted in black. I hope someone can help me out.
-
1975 had Light Ruby Red and it went to Candy Antares Red on the F2.
-
It doesn't have a code number but specialist bike paint suppliers should still have the colour.
-
rs paints do all the colours

A "modern equivelent" is Honda Milano Red (from 400 restoration website)

Good to know - cheers Dan! Do you have a link to the site?

Unfortunately the website is no longer accessible, but it comprehensively detailed the restoration of a 400F. The bike was in Practical Sportsbikes a couple of years ago. I sprayed up my side panels in Milano Red with Halfords rattle cans with good results.

Cheers Dan - I've an 88 CBR600 that'll probably be roadworthy before the older girls will (sacrilege, I know!) and it'll be finished in its original pearl white with fighting red trimlines. Milano looks close enough for a chucklehead who like the idea of his bikes having 'matching' colour schemes. :-)

How about 'Varnish Blue'. Anyone know a near equivalent for that?

RS Paints do it http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/shop-paints.php?colourscheme=3814&704=on
Or you can do as I did and get a car shop to paint it up in Toyata 8A1 which is generally considered as the best match.
