Hi everyone, trying to piece together the proper specification for the above bike. I have read quite a bit of information but would like to pick all your brains on the spec this bike left the factory before I start pulling it apart again.
Colour, although the tank is gold I don’t think that this colour came out before frame number ###20000, mine is around the ###19000 mark.
Tank, should it be a wrinkle tank?
Front mudguard, should it be single or double cut?
Seat, should it be ducktail?
Can anyone give me the correct spec for this bike I know they changed them very rapidly over this period.
Every bit of info would help.

Hi Jojo, is your bike a uk bike ? cheers Mick ;)

Hi no I bought it a few years back from an importer, I have been buying original nuts and bolts from Germany, got some new forks and wireing harness from the States. Its a US spec bike.
Its complete and runs all chrome is good, but I think the front mudguard is a later one.
Should it have a black kill switch (forgot to ad this one to the list)
Exhausts are repairable but not `300`. I will replace these with pattern ones (Anyone know where the best place I can get some from).
Thanks

Think Gold was available at the end of '69 (there was a pic of one on the US site) and of course one of the 'Brighton Show bikes' was gold/white. Also seen a couple asian market gold ones that GI's brough back after Vietnam. Two colours available originally were Candy Ruby Red and Candy Blue Green. A person on US site from Toronto posted a pic of a sandcast bike he bought in summer '69 Gold/white stripe tank.
Definitely should have ducktail seat.
Almost certain double cut fender at front (mudguard) with no cable grommet thingy.
Hmmm on wrinkle tank . My 10/69 UK K0, I am pretty certain, did not have one originally. But hey-ho everyone seems to disagree.
I think it should have 'antimon' alloy fuel cap too and no black stripe on bottom seam fuel tank trim.,
Black Kill switch for definite & recessed ignition switch.
Narrow front hub / two hole rear hub.
Louvred side panels.
Short style plastic chainguard (may have been swapped as recall though).
Oh and that tw*t of a rolled rear DID
rim that I can't get hold of.
Silvers for exhausts as they are Yamiya (or were) and you save yourself import/shipping duty .. but check as he is having HM341's made in Italy now. Yamiya ones definitely good quality I believe.
Shoot me down if anything is wrong !!

yes 4 cable carbs and HM300 pipes, the early k0 pipes had no numbers, but i am pretty sure by your model they were hm300

Carbs definitely 4 cables into 1, apart from transition 'K0' model in late 1970.
Don't worry about pic, Any K0 is worth restoring. (as long as you have deep pockets ;)). And drives you nuts trying to locate the correct parts.
