Title: cb750f2 frame.
Post by: royhall on June 14, 2014, 06:00:04 PM
Just started on an F2 rebuild on a bike I bought as part of a job lot some months ago. Unfortunately it appears this bike has had a smash and has been very badly repaired. The frame is really a write off. Does anybody have a spare F2 frame with V5 they would consider selling. Other than that i may be selling off a whole bikes worth of parts. Would rather fix it though. Thanks guys.

Hi Roy ebay or one of the bigger breakers/ importers might be worth a look  ;) cheers Mick.

Thanks Mick. Been watching ebay for a while. Just one frame on there that looks like the breakers cut the right down-tube to get the engine out, then tack welded it back in. Been burned before with gear like that, so was hoping somebody on one of the forums would be able to help out. Much more trustworthy people on here. Problem is the F2's frame is unique and not interchangeable with the F1 or any of the K's, so not very many around. Thanks anyway, will keep looking.

Yeah spotted that frame whilst searching this morning. Looking at the picture from the rear, it looks fairly bent. Think I shall keep waiting for now, need a good one that will steer straight. Thanks for your replies though. Keep them coming. Cheers Roy.

I have a f2 frame but has had the airbox tabs removed and some bracing and a steering damper boss welded on. I do have a S Reg V5 for it but as the reg has 300S I have been advised its worth £450 just for the plate. If I could retain the plate I would be open to offers for the frame. I live on the south coast so could send it up.
Paul.

Thanks for the reply Paul. Yes I would be interested in the frame, not bothered about the registration number as long as it comes with a correct year number. Any idea how much you want for it, and could you send a couple of pictures. I am assuming all the other tabs etc are still in place and it has no crash damage or anything. Not bothered about the paint finish as it will be stripped and painted as original. Cheers Roy.

Yes I would be interested. No deal has been done yet. Just looking for a standard F2 frame for a ground up rebuild back to as was. Pauls has been a cafe racer by the sounds and has had tabs etc removed. How much you looking for for the frames. You can PM me if you want, or just open forum. Cheers Roy.

Cheers Mick, am sure to need something along the way. Will probably have a run down to Lancaster shortly, will pop in and have a look at your bikes.
