Title: 400/4 Tank
Post by: Boggieman on July 11, 2014, 03:26:40 PM
Hi all
Now that I have fully converted my bike to race trim, I am thinking of getting rid of some of the bits that I won't use again.
Can anyone tell me what petrol tanks go for these days, it's in pretty good condition and is the original one from the bike.
I also have things like front and rear mudguards and the grab handle.
Thanks
Ian

Hi,
Tanks on fleabay go for £30 up to £100+ according to condition/authenticity and of course up to £20 for p+p, and some of these are minus tap and filler cap(sold separately)--Ken

Ok guys,
Here are some pic's of the tank I would like to sell.
It has no dents on it, but it does have a couple of small chips in the paint.
Any ideas on how much to ask for it?
Cheers

It looks better than this one (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB400F-fuel-tank-used-but-very-good-with-some-light-scratches-/261539953315?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276), I would start at £75.

+1 If it doesn't sell it can always be re listed.

I've my Parakeet tank away bring re sprayed. Time scales is not in my man's verbiage..who knows when I might get it back. So, to keep the '400 on the road / enjoy it I figured a cheapo tank to tide things over. Made a very realistic offer of £65 on Bodds ebay pointer above - refused. He should have taken it... last night I picked up a tank @ £31 all in - as will collect myself locally. A bargain, sound with just a couple of light dents ... will spray it yellow to stay legal and sell on when I get the original back.
Woohoo...3 / 3 bikes on the road.... a first!
Spoiled for choice...
