Title: Switchgear Wiring Route

I fitted my newly chromed handlebar today. This is a genuine one with the holes in for the switch wires. The one it is replacing is a pattern without the holes. So I routed the wires inside the bar OK but when I came to fit the switchgear, I found it a bit awkward. I thought the wires would route from inside the switch block straight into the handlebar holes but they didn't want to do that. Have a look at the photos attached and see if you think that is right.

They go on further than that you do not see any wiring and also there should be a pin that locates in the handelbars

Post by: Lynx on October 04, 2014, 07:10:53 PM: Ah crap! I was afraid you were going to say that. That means the metal on the left and right blocks has been broken out to allow the cables to be routed on the outside of the bar. The pins are missing too .

All is not lost you can use a decent sized rivet for the pin providing the hole is there in the bottom half and once you have it located you can patch the hole maybe with jb weld or similar?and paint it only you would know whats been done

K8 does, as has connector block. :P

You are well right but I have never worked or seen a k8 apart from photos.Am I right in saying they did not appear in the UK?All I recall is k6 k7 f1 f2.Still dont like surface run wires though
