Title: Seat Hinge lug fixings
Post by: Nurse Julie on December 28, 2014, 08:20:22 PM
Hi Chaps.
On my seat hinge there are 2 different items fixing the hinge to the lugs on the frame. 1 is a normal nut/ bolt/washer and the other is a clevis pin with hole and split pin. Which 1 is the correct fixing ?.

Ta in advance
Julie

I was thinking that Trig, especially as the nut and bolt was about 3/4 inch too long and had 5 washers on it to take up the gap !!!. I will get 2 nice new pins then

The clevis Pins should have a washer and the part number is 95015-801-00 but, you know how to get the clevis pins a lot cheaper ;)

No, the first 712 is wrong so, they have put a second 712 X 2 seat pins. Official name for this type of pin is Clevis pin's. Used a lot on boats.

We do use clevis pins in bone surgery but they are part of the instrumentation not the prosthetics or implants, lovely stainless steel ones. Anyway, I thought all women knew what clevis and cotter pins were, or is it just me that knows very weird, obscure things  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
