As the title really?
-
Yes, under the badge there is a Sticker with "HONDA MOT MOTOR CO..." For 500K,K1,K2
-
There is a lot of them(stickers) on Ebay I you want to buy a pair for your side covers.
-
That Is the correct shape, were only on the K0 and I have part numbers from a Japanese parts book---never showed in a UK or US one. Most were Black writing, only the Black side panel had Gold and UK was one of the only coutries that had Black as a colour.
years back i made some printed on acetate that needed laquering over but later on had some made as stickers---Not many and cost a lot
-
I'm going to make some of them...
-
Somewhere on this hard drive i have pictures/scans of the ones i took off my first US one and digitally repaired then sent to a firm in Canada to reproduce, when i eventually find them i will try and post the pics

Here you go. This is were i got mine from > http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CB500-CB500-4-CB500F-CB500K-SIDE-PANEL-DECALS-2-/130999163590?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item1e80289ac6
James, the UK K0 did not come with a VIN plate. Like most of the Honda's of that time in the UK ;)

Thanks Graham, yeah well aware now that the UK bikes didn't have the VIN Tag. Was just sharing ;-). One day I might buy a UK bike you never know...:-)

Had to buy a 3.5 inch drive to get at the file of the original transfer but here it is as a jpeg
-
I just found the original file, as a bmp on a 3 1/2 inch floppy so had to buy an external drive to read it and hopefully it attaches here but it won't. Anybody know how to convert a bmp to jpeg?
I just had a look at that ebay link
(1) they were never laquered over
(2) I thought the ones I bought were pricey but not that much!!!
-
I have added bmp to the list of file types allowed to be uploaded as attachments.
Try it now.
Steve
-
Thanks Steve but in my searching i found a converter and a way to resize the pic in XP so hopefully here it is. This is as it was on the original 500 imported by DS and bought by me. NB this is NOT number 36 but the first one that i bought

Piki the original part numbers were:-
87123-323-000B (Black)
87123-323-000KG (Gold)
These are from a very old Japanese parts book I aquired and the 323 means they were for a 500 Four.
I agree that for custom paint jobs any colour is OK and it is because of these stickers that i own No 36 as I bought some used sidepanels from the US when postage wasn't a killer and commented to the seller that they must be from a K0 due to the sticker and he sent me back the frame number At which point i negotiated a price for the frame as i was going to the states early the next year.
