Looks like it has been made to fit a 500 with those bracket fittings Ken. I think this is forsale from a member that was asking a question about exhausts  ;D ;D ;D

Well, I want to ride it at the moment.  Maybe in the winter I'll get around to taking the forks off.  It's a long and annoying job.

The MOT man gave me an advisory about the seat.  I cannot see why, it's tatty yes but not that bad!

new seat arrived today.  Holes are slightly in the wrong place so looks like I'll have to elongate the ones on the bracket. Never mind, other than that detail it looks very good, a tiny bit smaller than the one I had already which is very pleasing.  Not one for the purists ( no Honda lettering) but for a daily rider I have to say pretty good.

Honda lettering is easy to add and for my money well worth the effort.
Templates from Piki on this forum or eBay, I used Rust-Oleum Fabric Paint (£4.99 at Homebase).

too smart for words.  Also I have a new mudguard on the way for the front.  I'd better be careful, if it gets too smart I'll have to sell it.

Nice work Florence, looks like a decent seat...get that paintwork sorted next and you'll be flying...

yes, I was thinking I would try to find a tank and side panels that are already painted or indeed original.  Not easy though.

I reckon if I managed to get it that smart I would sell it and buy a twin of some kind;  I've always liked twins.  Sorry, that's a swear word on here but I only bought my 500/4 in the early 1990s because it was very cheap and no one was interested in them back then.

Thanks for that; I've been looking for some decent vinyl spray that won't rub off.  What colour did you use?

I used the silver, which I think is what the original was.
It also comes in gold or black.

Does anyone know where I can get the bracket hinge which holds on the seat?  My one is home made and with this new seat doesn't fit properly.

I can look, but as you probably know, my shed is a tip and it is likely to take an age and a half to search through the massive piles of junk to find if I have a spare.

if you get a chance Matt that would be great.  I've tried filing the holes to give me more adjustment but there just isn't enough offset and the plunger which holds down the seat gets stuck and won't go in.  I knew I should have left well alone, there was nothing wrong with the old seat!
