Sorry I thought the picture had uploaded from my phone :s and that's a great help, looks like the spring on section 9! Just need to double check against the carbs.

Thanks

Ok, that link didn't help that much, i still cant find it a home.

The spring is that weak i cant imagine it doing a great deal, any how, here is a picture:

The next thing i need help with is actually assembling the "center" of the carbs together (the ends of  the butterfly shafts) Can anybody provide a photo of theirs or some good instructions? feel free to take my photo and show me your 'paint' skills :)

Again, thanks for the help.

Ken, i believe they are assembled the same as the photos Matt has supplied (thanks Matt)

And as for the spring, i'm not sure if i'm being totally blind but i can't see it for the life of me, I see the main spring situated on the left hand side of the throttle mechanism, but not the spring i have, the ID of the spring is about 17mm i would say.

Here's a couple of pics of my spare carbs - you can see the spring quite clearly

There is a good rebuild guide here - http://www.sohc4.net/cb550-faq/indexphp/pd46a-carb-rebuild-guide-by-brian-barnes

Hope that helps

Fantastic, I can see clearly where it goes and locates now! Good man!

Ken, yes your right, I made them that far apart purely so you could see when I took the photos, when the butterfly is in place you can't adjust the position of the of the rods without splitting the carbs back down.

Thanks for help and photos!
