Hi guys the pest is back I am painting my 1977 yellow 400/4 Tank and Side panels I have them painted and Lacquered and now want to fit the new Decals. I bought these from Classic motorcycle decals about 3 years ago now ready to fit them. Can anyone give me advice on fitting
I think they are to be put in water to remove from backing. Any advice would be appreciated. My son says to put soapy water on tank to help move around would that be right. Any advice or tips

Aye, use soapy water and a squeegee to remove the air bubbles

Second that that's how I did the sign writing on my old van.

Hello, could you show the Decals?? Do not put the Decals on water, it is not necessary to remove the back tape! And your son is right ;)

I personally put the decals on before the lacquer and then lacquered over them to protect them.
They are easy to put on using water and one or two drops of washing up liquid (no more).
The decals will get scratched and marked if put on after the lacquer and make sure you don't get any petrol on them.

The problem with decals, or stickers is that they have an expire date.
Next time try to use stickers not older than 6 months.
After that it will get more and more difficult to get them on.
