Title: New member from Somerset, UK!
Post by: CR21 on January 01, 2016, 04:01:44 PM
Hello,

My name is Scott, I live in Somerset, UK. I am 21 and work as a product designer/tool designer. I am very into motorcycles and have been from a young age, with mainly two stroke Yamaha's, I have completed several restorations and I am just in the final stages of a Yamaha TA125 replica, please see my restoration thread here:

http://www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=37574.0 (http://www.aircooledrdclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=37574.0)

I produce replica parts in my own time, to part fund my projects and allow them to be as accurate as possible without breaking the bank. I would like to do this with the CR replica project but also I am happy to help anybody out where I can, I am involved with some replica bantam parts at the moment as well :)

I am very interested in building a CR750 replica for my next project, I would like it to be as accurate as the bank allows! I am completely new to the Honda scene, and would like to know some more information about the CR replicas, what is possible, where to locate good components etc.

I am interested to see what year CB750 is best to use as a donor for a CR build. I am not interested in starting with a really good original bike, I will leave those for the restorers!

Cheers
CR21

Hi Scott......and welcome to the Forum......which I'm sure that you will find useful, informative and inspiring.....I know that I do.

It looks like you have a lot on your plate so good luck with your Yamaha and your CR750 Projects........please post photos regularly so we can drool....or offer advice and encouragement........we don't seem to do 'sarcasm' here so don't be afraid to ask questions.

A couple of Forum Members have CR750 Projects on the go so you shouldn't have any trouble finding out lots of stonking stuff and plenty of short cuts, spares sources and good old fashioned common sense.

No doubt you will look back at the end of your CR750 Project and reflect that the Forum was a great source of support.

Good luck.

Thanks guys for the positive support, the TA was a challenging one as there is hardly any information around! I have only been going mad on the CRs for about three months and I have more info than in three years for the TA!

This forum looks like it will be a great source of information, I am very inspired by other members builds! The strip down has started on the CB, hence the spares for sale on the forum,

Cheers
