I might as well have shot their kids

Don't think its a late 50's "99", they had the wideline featherbed frame, looks like something with a single front down-tube!

That looks like a wide line frame to me .....I'm sure that's a twin down tube set up. That engine bar is obscuring it a bit but look close and I'm sure there are 2 tubes there....

Definitely a wideline frame and could be a Norton Dominator 88 500cc or 99 600cc
You can just make out the twin down tubes and the plate which ties them together under the headstock.  You can also see the swing arm gusset plate - another giveaway.
I think the slimline frame came out in 59 for the 60 season, so must pre date that.
That Avon Handlebar fairing was glass fibre and almost 6 mm thick - my dad had one on his BSA Golden Flash outfit and had to trim a bit from the left hand side to clear the sidecar.  He gave me the off cut and a hammer to try to smash it (I was about 7 at the time). I failed miserably and I never forgot how strong glass fibre was.

It appears I need a better moniter or better glasses, but it looks like roadholder badges on the forks!

No good borrowing my glasses ka-Ja, they're that thick that you need good eyesight just to see through 'em.
