Title: Two bikes at auction in crates in 1996
Post by: AshimotoK0 on January 30, 2016, 09:05:16 AM
I emailed a guy in York about parts for my 500K0 ... he's a real guru on the CB500/4. He told me this below. Really a question for Oddjob Do you reckon they came from Queens Park Motors?  Evidently the 500 ended up as N reg but not XXXX N but N XXXXX.
The conversation arose because I recently found that my 750K0 came from Alan Mountains shop in York ( one of two sold on the same day). Anyone know anything about those crated auction bikes?

I recall that around 1996 someone turned up at Alan Mountains on a brown 500/4 fresh out of the crate, 40 or 50 miles on the clock , apparently he bought it along with a crated 750 in an auction in Manchester. He didn't know the bikes were in the auction until he got there, it was a warehouse clearance sale, he went for something else and came away with the bikes.
