« on: July 09, 2016, 08:48:45 PM »
I have recently restored a 1976 400/4 when on its stand it revs well and seems to run cleanly but when on the road I can't get it past 4000 rpm

Has anyone got any ideas what to look for the timing has been checked and is ok

anyone know how much you can remove, and do you need to do anything else after, i.e. the compression ratio will be high and will the valves clash, does anyone know someone in west yorshire who can do it?

CB350/400 / 400/4 engine noise
« on: October 17, 2015, 08:52:49 PM »
I rebuilt the engine last year new bearing etc, on the left hand side ( when sat on it) there is a ticking noise I thought it was tappit clearance so reset them several times without impact has anyone got some suggestions what to look for during these dark winter months. I am thinking a bent valve or worn guide bush ?
Thanks

CB350/400 / Honda 400/4 wheels
« on: October 17, 2015, 08:39:09 PM »
Hi all I'm just in the process of respoking my wheels, the rims are pretty shabby and I was going to get them rechromed, however there are no part no's or Honda logos. So I suspect they may be pattern parts so it's pointless to rechroming I may as well replace, can anybody confirm if genuine Honda wheels gave any markings

Thanks

CB350/400 / soft front brake
« on: March 04, 2015, 12:27:09 PM »
I have been trying  to get decent lever for my front brake forever.
When i bought the bike it had a non standard single hose (no pressure switch for brake light)
Whilst restoring i changed to the 3 hose system, manifold with a brake switch, never got a decent lever.
I have rebuilt the frame etc this winter so tried again no better, new piston and seal fitted to the caliper, new plunger etc in the master cylinder.
Reverted back to the single hose and no problem which tells me the caliper and master cylinder is ok.
Anyone had similar issue any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
