Ditto, to all of the above + penol (Penertraing Oil) and a blow lamp. If a bolt is looking a bit stubborn I soak it over night in penol and next day try again, if this doesn't work after a couple of attempts, I lightly warm (not blasting hot) the aluminum casting around the offending bolt then try.

Are these orginal indicators? I have dinky (smaller) lights on my CB650, and they flash faster as Steve said it's due to the current they draw changing the voltage drop across the flasher unit, I think there is an MOT requirement on speed of flashing, but mime passes each year

CB750 / Re: Easist way to fit engine
« on: April 14, 2009, 02:05:02 PM »
I've tried both ways, engine on floor and lower frame and engine into upright frame, got the engine lodged in the frame both ways.

For me the easiest method was to wrap strips of an old towel to the bits of the frame most likly to get damaged and tie them up with zip ties, get a friend to help me lift the engine in and resting on the lower tubes (protected by the towels).

I then used a car sissor jack to raise the engine at the back and fitted the mounting bolt then do the same for the front.

Be careful as it's dead easy to get the engine stuck at an angle.

Rule of thumb -  when rebuilding and engine, you can never use too much oil during a rebuild, if it's metal-on-metal -  lube it
