Cheers Pete, will do, give me your address via email and I'll send some beer tokens to cover it, much appreciated,  I see in you other thread that you've got your spokes, I ordered a front rim from the Italian site you suggested yesterday, I have never built a wheel up before so I'll pick your brains once you've built yours up if that's ok?.

Thanks Pete sounds good, I see you are in Sheffield, I'm in Derby, weather is a bit dodgy at the moment but I could take a ride up some time at the weekend, will you be around?, cheers Mark.

Little Hienrichs parents were very worried, by the age of 2 he had not uttered a single word, they took him to speech therapists and were told that sometimes children were late speakers, however by the age of 3 he had still not attempted to speak, again he was taken to specialists but it appeared that nothing would persuade him to talk, his parents tried everything they could, bribing him with sweets, taking him on trips to the zoo, but still nothing, then suddenly at his 4th birthday party he looked up from his plate and said "Ziss apple struddle iss a little tepid", his parents we shocked and overjoyed, "Heinrich, this is a miracle" they said "why have you never spoken before?", "well" said little Heinrich "up until now everything hass been satisfactory!".

Welcome Stu, that's going to be a great project!, I'm about half way through my CR750 build, your right about the expense :o, it hurts at times!, but it's got to be better than wasting the money on weird hobbies like fishing or football or other such bizarre passtimes :)

Hi there - at the moment I'm stripping down 400lbs of rust that once was a 1973 CB500K... Now that I've rid myself of the shame and tears of letting her get into this state we're getting to see what we actually have (left).

Come hell or high water she'll be back for TT time (MGP at the latest)!

Cheers

Kev
Welcome Kev, no finer place to be a biker!, I'm trying to get my CR750 replica ready to ride to the TT .............. Classic TT at the latest! :).
btw I just got let down re TT accommodation for the 5th June 2014, I'm sorted for all the other nights, if you know anyone that has a home stay for the 5th only please let me know, I've tried the homestay website but everyone seems fully booked, so it's looking like a night under canvass at present and as we all know camping is for boy scouts and idiots!.

Does anyone have a left hand switch gear for sale?, the one that came with the bike is in poor condition and the horn button is missing, I will be polishing the casing so it doesn't matter if the black finish is worn, cheers Mark.

That's right Bryan it hasn't, I'm putting my CR on the road when it's done but I'll be using an electronic bicycle speedo , I used one on a ZXR400 I had a while ago and they are very accurate if you set them correctly, interestingly they read well over the ton, (the manufacturers must have expected some extremely fit customers!).

Thanks Gamma, I am getting rid of the speedo drive as well so it makes sense to use a spacer as you have done instead of using lots of spacers on the calliper mount, cheers for the photos too, looks great.

Hi, I'm building a replica CR750, one of my next tasks is to do the dual front disc conversion, I have found a few old threads but has anyone done this recently?,  any pitfalls I should look out for?, I have a second disc/calliper/mount and am using a Fireblade 919 master cylinder, any tips/photo's would be appreciated, cheers Mark.

Up and running now, I hadn't appreciated how much it needed the airbox fitted to start!, I will be re-jetting for velocity stacks soon so if anyone needs a K7 airbox let me know. Off out on XJR now to celebrate  ;D

Not yet, need to work out how to hide the £150 spoke costs from SWMBO.

They look pretty good for the money, not super highly polished, but really quite nice, I'll probably get the spokes in the next month or so and will update

Good find!, I will order some, just need to be sure of the rim widths I need for a CR750 replica I'm building, thanks for the tip off.

« on: February 01, 2014, 07:01:03 PM »
I'm booked for the TT and will very probably do the classic too, went to the classic last year, brilliant event, got talking to John McGuiness, total gent, brilliant to see legends such as Agostini ride, every interesting bike there that you could ever think of, absolutely can't fault it, (top tip, don't camp, that's for idiots, do the home stay, cheap nice COMFORTABLE accommodation, brilliant people).

Hi Mark welcome to the forum, lots of 750 owners on here so if you get stuck with anything there will be helpful advise to hand
pete
Cheers Pete, just got stuck for the first time actually!, I plumbed in the oil tank, re-fitted carbs and exhaust, slaved a battery and original fuel tank today and went for a start......but it didn't !, getting a spark but the plugs don't seem to be getting wet so I suspect it's a fuelling issue, last time I started the engine was 5 months ago and I didn't re-clean the carb internals before re-fitting the carbs today  ::), now run out of time/daylight/skill so it will have to be tomorrow now.
