Cheers Graham, I don't have a bracket at all but remember when I got a brand new mot ad it came with 2 brackets depending on which model. Thought I still had the bracket but can't find it.

If you get stuck Mick, send Julie a message and she will dig them out.
Is this a Stainless steel Motad or the mild steel one ?

I quite like the idea of a bit of cam reprofiling, if I find everything else to be in good order I may go down that route.  In terms of top end gasket and o-ring kits, where is best to get them?

Vesrah are a top kit and you will need more than a top end set  ;)

Misc / Open / Re: Anyone noticed that DK now selling parts vapour blasted?

Anyone noticed that DK now selling quite a few parts vapour blasted ... Like this 400F rear hub?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354898756649

But it's been blasted without stripping out the bearings etc, which sounds dodgy to me.
Plus it's probably doubled the price they would normlly sell a similar item for, not blasted.

Just a selling technique but, at least you can inspect to see if the hub liner has any cracks  ;)

Nice job, Julie!  I'm not confident in my ability to duplicate it!  ;)

It is a lot easier than you think. You apply the stencil decal. Mask off around the area with newspaper to stop any over spray. Spray a very light coats at a time until it has built up and once dry remove all the masking tape and stencil.
If it doesn't look right, just wipe the paint off with nail varnish remover and start again  ;)

I have a motad exhaust for Lazarus until i can afford a 4/4 original style. The front pipes are numbered ok but could do with a pic of how they fit into the silencer and rear mounting bracket. cb550 is the same. thanks in advance

I have come across two different brackets fitted between the 500's and 550's Mick. Must be down to the foot peg hanger position. If you need a different one, i have two types here  ;)

Thanks all, I've got the rocker off following several guides, I'm labelling everything and sticking bolts through labelled card to remember their positions for reassembly.   I'll post some photos later

I love pictures of the insides of engines. That is what made my job so interesting, you would never find the same problem once stripped down  ;)

To use that type of carbs, you will also need the correct air box to carb rubbers. Your choke lever is bent and will need a little straightening up  ;)

If any valves are bent Dom, get a magnify glass and check that non of the valve guides are cracked. Even a small hairline crack will open up once the engine has warmed up  ;)

I changed all my batteries to Gel and just take them off in the winter, put them in the inside work shop for the winter and they have been fine for the past 4 years with no trouble  ;)

Does anyone know what size the vacuum screw on carb on cb750k are  like to change them they are a bit damaged

M5 with a 5mm thread  ;)
Not entirely correct that….

Surely if it’s an M5 bolt, it’s telling you it’s 5mm, the pitch of the thread is what your after in that question in which case it’s only one of two options .08 or .09, that’s all it can be. Not in the workshop so can’t check but if you have a tap and Dye set use your thread gauge and find the matching pitch in that particular screw. Simples

The Question was: What size the vacuum screw; and the bolt is M5 with a 5mm thread length. He never asked the pitch but, it is JIS standard 0.8  ;)
