Another newbie question from me.
As I prep myself to get my project going, what you do for nuts, bolts and washers? Reuse the old ones (mine are pretty tatty), is there a specialist supplier or do you use a local firm to purchase them. Also, does the Honda have a finer pitch then standard? Stainless steel or is that a crime?
Any guidance will be gratefully receieved

Thanks for the list, I admit I was thinking of painting the likes of foot pegs etc. I have found a place http://www.wingspowdercoating.co.uk/ not to far from me. I might give them a try.

Hi,
any recommendations for powder coating in Devon / Cornwall? I have the frame, swing arm, head stock, stand etc ready for powder coating.
Also, the mounted items like foot pegs etc, are they just painted satin black which I can prep and paint or should I get these powder coated?
Thanks in advance

Waffey, this my original if you need to see what it should look like. You see second hand ones for sale but you will have to do some work on them to get anything like.
Thanks for the picture. Mine looks nothing like that!!! I'll start my search....

Thanks, I never thought to measure it, it also looks like it's been hacked by some butcher!

Hi,
i've stripped my seat pan off the 400. It had some extra padding at the back that didn't look original. Can anyone tell me if this is the original seat pan?

Thanks for the reply's,
I am definitely planning to use the same engine bolts etc.
So lessons learnt are, use the originals, get them zinc plated, make sure I check the correct lengths for the correct item.
I see on the fiche for the frame there are some odd size's. Here is a list I compiled.
Hex - 5 x 20 Flanged - 6 x 25 Screw - 6 x 20 Flanged - 6 x 20 Hex - 6 x 20 Flanged - 5 x 20 Hex - 6 x 8 Hex - 6 x 12 Hex - 6 x 16 Hex - 8 x 16 Hex - 6 x 14 Hex - 6 x 15 Hex - 6 x 22 Hex - 6 x 25 Hex - 6 x 28 Hex - 6 x 36 Hex - 8 x 25 Hex - 8 x 28 Hex - 8 x 32 Hex - 8 x 45 Hex - 7 x 54 Hex - 8 x 80 Hex - 10 x 80 Hex - 10 x 32 Hex - 8 x 40 Hex - 8 x 50 Hex - 5 x 20 Screw - 6 x 20 Flanged - 6 x 25 Hex - 6 x 16

Hi,
Q1. might be a stupid question but are all the bolts around the frame and fixtures all a standard metric pitch? I was thinking of buying a bagful or two before the build so I have the various sizes to hand.
Q2. Zinc plated or stainless
thanks in advanced

See how the "evolution" of modern technology is helping? waffey, might you be able to dump them into a dropbox storage folder, or google photos, or some other such, for viewing or download? I wouldn't mind taking a look myself, and they might be helpful to many more... [/quote] I'll see what I can do, I have a drop box account
