Hi All Nearly there, just a few more little bits to sort out, one item needed is the grab strap for the seat of an F1, well, the brackets are a must as they have gone rusty. does anyone know where I can either get a strap complete, or just the chrome fittings? Looked over e-bay and cant find a good quality set? Many thanks for your help John

Hi Billy I had the same problem and used some 10mm bolts, but as mine is a 4 2 1 exhaust, I cant tell you the length, as yours would be longer. You could buy some pattern bolts, or standard 10mm, put them in and cut down to size after you know the length. Sorry I cant be of further help.

I think its all been said, set yourself up with some bite sized tasks, take a pic before, and then one when you have completed each task. good idea is to put the project pic somewhere where you can see it daily (maybe on the sun visor of your car) with some pics of the completed items. Its a good reminder of whats to come. also maybe place some pics of before and after (small tasks) on this site? the guys are great, helpful, and will give you all the motivation you need. best of luck and keep up the good work, you will get there!

Hi Shaun My centre stand was a nightmare, I had to cut though the centre fixing to get it off, then nothing would get the fixing out the stand (even oxy heat would not budge it) but when it painted properly, it will be much better and harder wearing. I would suggest trying a bit of heat and try to remove if poss, if not, then paint it on. John

maybe drill and tap a small hole and put a screw in, you can maybe then adjust the screw to the distance out you need?? regards

Thanks Phil, I have been in contact with Carpy (USA) and he does a 4 2 1 stainless, and is now making the 4 2 2, but this will be in chrome and ready soon. only issue from the states is the import duty, but he is a nice guy, and a Brit. keep you all informed as to what happens next. Many thanks again for your help. John

Hi All, just put the motor back in and started to wire up, but should have taken pics!! where do the alternator wires go through to get to the main board? there is a large gap in the chain cover top, but I think this is just for the battery wire? Looking underneath the motor, there are some wire clamps on the opposite side of the engine (bottom right if sitting, front and rear) and wondered if the wires go under the engine, and back round and up to the main board? any help would be appreciated please. Thanks for your help and a very happy Christmas to you all.
