Yes the float wants to be just touching the spring loaded tip of the needle valve. Not compressing it.

I had CD175 parts painted candy red a few years ago by Dream Machine the price was good, all steel parts blasted back to bare metal. The finish was excellent and is still as good today. They will collect and deliver. I would certainly use them again.

If you find a local paint supplier who have Lechler Paints they usually have the codes for all the old colours. Usually cheaper than RS Paints who use Lechler.

If they are in series at 12v you will still have 225ah and not 450ah and ideally should charge at about 10% of capacity. So a charger that will put out 25 amp would be good.

If the panel is in shade at all or through the winter you will get very little power, hence the largish battery.
I have 200w of panel on the roof of my camper and in winter it can struggle.

I would put a 80w solar panel on the roof, to a decent charge controller and a 12v 120ah deep cycle battery and go from there. It should be good for years. All available from eBay

It's TV. What they chop up to get the end result doesn't seem to matter or the cost. At the end of the day the TV company picks up the tab.

That's how I ride all the time . Been a short arse I put my right foot down and keep my left on the peg for putting in gear. Otherwise you end up swapping from one foot to the other.
