ACF50 will not keep everything in the garage condensation free.

It won't, but if you don't have an electrical supply in your garage or can't afford a dehumidifier,  its a good second option.

Mine too.  ACF50 helps keep it at bay.

Now if only Delkevic were able to have a pipe and muffler combination that sounds like this.... I would be very happy.

I had a Dunstall can on my 400/4 way back in the mid 70's.  My Aunt who lived across the road from our house said she could hear me coming home late at night from my girlfriends, from miles away and she knew it was me cos of the distinctive sound.   Lol.

I've got the Delkevic on my 550.  The plus points are:

Its well made
It come with all the parts you need to fit including exhaust sealing paste
It looks good IMO
Its very good value for money.

Bad point

It is loud.

When I was in my teens or 20's I'd have loved it just for that reason, but I'd be happier if they did a more efficient removable baffle.

I've written elsewhere here I'd love a full original Sankel system for my bike, there have been a couple come up recently on ebay but at North of £600 I'll stick with the Delkevic.  I can buy two complete systems for £600.

Very interesting, I think I've come to the same conclusion.

Its very easy to get sucked in to doing a full resto on a bike.  The results can of course be stunning, but as you say, your wallet invariably gets a hammering and the finished article is quite often too nice to take out in inclement weather.   I got to thinking that I just want to enjoy riding my bikes instead of getting them so shiny that I hardly dare go out on them.  Having said all that I've already spent a bank on my CB550F and theres still things I would like to improve on it.   :-\

Yes I agree, it looks like an exhaust hanger bracket.

I've never seen one of those before, the CD175 and 185 yes, but not a 250.  Were they an official UK model?

If you get stuck and aren't worried about having a used rack on your bike, drop me a line.  I have a rack on my 550, it isn't in great nick, but its sturdy and does the job.  I'm going to refit the grab rail to mine and then it will be almost back in standard trim.  I'm just debating whether to spend £600 plus on a standard exhaust system (if I can still find one) then my bike will be 99% original.

Yes mate, I'm not too keen on the tank pad myself, I'm just wondering if its hiding some paint damage underneath.  Perhaps one of my kids will buy me a nicer one for Christmas?? ;D

There was a little rust on the frame welded joints near where the rear shocks fit, so I've wire brushed the affected areas and applied some anti rust paint to keep it at bay a while longer.  The seat itself looks quite comfy, but as I mentioned I haven't ridden it yet.   The Ace bar type handlebars might also get binned and I'll fit some standard Bonneville bars instead if the control cables and electrical wiring etc is long enough.

Looks well screwed together actually, quite impressed.  Sounds nice with the open silencers too.  :)

ACF50 is wonderful stuff.  I should've mentioned I trailered it home with a cover on and whilst cold it has been dry today, so apart from a quick wipe over with an 'oily rag' all is fine  ;)

I got the old girl safety home today after a 400 mile - 8 hour round trip.  Too knackered to do anything else than shove it in the garage  ???, so I'll take it for a spin (weather permitting) tomorrow and post up some photos.
