Hi
same here I'm not worried about a totally original bike but I do think you have to have a 4 it 4.
I am very happy with the first set of pipes I bought. I have only covered about 400 miles but 100 of them were non stop at 75-80mph :D and there not showing any signs of going blue yet.The second set are very disappointing considering I paid nearly £200 more every one is damaged

What a very disappointing day I've had to day  :( :( Made my way to DSS and bought another set of pattern pipes for a CB750. They bring out a box that someone has taken a knife too to hide the fact that they were made in Taiwan or somewhere similar not a problem I thought as the first set I bought were excellent. So I place them in the truck and turn my attention to the 400 four tank.I ask to see the yellow tank as it is a hard colour to spray. What a crap spray job incredibly thin you can see the gray primer underneath it looks like someone has been at it with a rattle can there were plenty of defects in the finish and the underside was still in primer. The decals were of poor quality. If I was to buy a tank I would buy it in primer and have it sprayed. The tank itself was made in Taiwan and of reasonable quality  and looked the part.So I get back home and check the pipes the first one I look at has a small dint, the second one has a pen mark on it to highlight a scratch, the third one has a small scuff and the forth one has two pen marks on it to highlight a scuff and a dint  :o :(   I phoned DSS and they are picking them up Monday and so we will go from there

Forgot to mention I may be going to David Silvers Saturday I shall ask to look at the tank and panels and report back.
I will defiantly be sending my gold bike to Daytona Designs  as the finish is spot on

CB750 / Re: To sell or not to sell
« on: December 03, 2012, 07:40:17 PM »
Hi hairygit my problem is I get far to attached to any bike or car that I have ever owned and always regret selling them.My pegaso hasn't worked properly for years and my Triumph now refuses to start at all but I still can't part with them.I sold my cd250u for £600 more than what I paid for it and still regret it nearly every day.I already have another 750k1 in bits lined up for a winter project but haven't had the time to do anything with it and now i'm looking at buying another one  ;D I may have to see someone about it before I run out off room and money

Hi all just been offered £7500 for my green k1.  :-\  I would like to keep it for at least a year and cover at least a thousand mile on it but now I can't decide weather to sell or not.

I always use a brush as you put more paint on.
Key the surface first then use Hammerite special metals primer and then two thin coats of rustoleum gloss black.
If you prep well first than you get a brushstroke free finish and it looks as good as powdercoat.I wouldn't recommend household undercoat and gloss anymore as they have messed with the formulas and they are now crap and take weeks to harden up.

By some time I mean at least 6 months and very little use in the last 3 to 4 years. :( I might try the battery out of another bike.
I'm sure its the injectors as everything else seams fine.My brothers toyota run exactly the same and that turned out to be injectors.
I've never been happy with the triumph so I might just out it if I cant get it to run right.

Hi Oddjob
Those batteries work on the same principle as mobile phone batteries and don't appreciate the cold much so die very fast.
Motobatt  batteries are also better left off the trickle chargers for as long as possible as they shorten there life span.

Thumbs up for Motobatt.
Ordered  the wrong one for my 750 so I shoved it in a triumph trophy mounted on end and it never fails to start. There is also one in my pegaso
but that never starts because it's Italian.

Other Bikes / Blocked injectors

Hi all my Triumph speed four has been stood for some time and now it has started missing at low revs.It won't pull below 3,000 RPM .
Iv'e changed the plugs as they were quite bad and no change so I assume the injectors are blocked.
Can you use an ultrasonic cleaner to clear them or are they fecked
Cheers
Mick
