Picked up a 75 CB400 Super Sport that has been sat for 11 years in a leaky garage. It's a bit of a mongrel with what I believe are cornstars, front brake and forks from 250 super dream. Non standard indicators, knackered front headlight and no kick start pedal. Still had old fuel and oil in it and the front brake had seized solid.

My plan is to do a cafe/brat style conversion as that would work with the current wheels. Spoked wheels are on my wish list but would need hubs as well and that setup is currently out of my price range! This also chip in the casing where it meets the points cover.

So first thing first strip down.

I too prefer the spoked rims, but as they cost a fortune I'm going with the cornstars and 250n forks for the moment and just repaint them. My plans aren't down the restoration route anyway, more of a cafe/brat style, I would rather use the budget on other parts and make it something I would like to ride.

Just been catching up on your build thread Ted! Glad to hear you're recovering well. As you can see by the photos I think my bike has been given the cornstar treatment 😀

Welcome to the forum and have fun. If its a 76 it will be a Super Sport.  The CB400 Super four is a totally different bike as you will find out when looking for parts.  ;)

Moorey - I stand corrected, although the script on the tank was a big giveaway 😀

Just popping in to say hello! I've acquired what I think is a 76  CB400 Super Four that has been sat in a garage for the last 11 years. So thought I would seek out some like minded people for friendly banter and much needed advice, as this will be my first foray into ll thinks mechanical 😀

TIA Paul

I'd definitely like his details please as I'm just started stripdown on my 76 CB400 that's been sat in a garage for 11 years.

TIA
