ewan.looking good,

 see you have avon boots,

it looks a work of art,

as for the oil,a semi-synthetic 10-40  should be perfect,

I am waiting with bated breath to see how it runs and handles !!

thanks Mike and Trigger,

just searched Dis-cover,it could be Stroud in Glouscester.,

local to me,although the cost of £30 including P&P is very reasonable,

willing to support local industry !!

Paul, it even works better it you pop it in the oven at 200 for an hour. It then becomes fuel and fluid resistant.

in the past I have dunked the cans in a bucket of boiling water, works quite well !!

 electric or gas ???

BTW  I sometimes use a heat gun to heat items before spraying,I think the paint fixes better !!!

Fahrenheit you nutter  :) :) :) :)

not had any issues using it

its his choice of style,

its not my idea of a cafe racer,

 but

the exhausts look special, not unlike Moto gp pipes,

I fitted Boyer to my 500-4 about 1978, !!!!

still use it,easy to set up,only replaced the box once, about 12yrs ago,

I am happy with the performance and reliability ,

think it cost me about £27 originally

may be dearer now

« on: May 28, 2014, 06:30:29 PM »
I fitted EBC pads to my 500-4,they were rubbish ,no feel,no grip, but brilliant in heavy rain ?? go figure !!

went back to some spare ones I had ,and that was sorted ,

maybe the guy fitted these ? is the pad material grey ?

http://bikes.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/ebc-bike-brakes-honda-cb-750-k0k6-19691977-standard-pad-fa012_p22371908.htm

they could be these?  I fitted FAO13 ,for the  500/400 etc

this is ONLY my opinion, others may of had better results

CB500/550 / Re: Inlet and exhaust valves
« on: May 25, 2014, 11:52:02 AM »
This may seem to a lot of you like a dumb question but which are the inlet and exhaust valves on my cb500 four K1?
I know where they are but am not sure which is which.

if the valves are out of the head, you should have 4 large headed, and 4 smaller, the smaller are exhausts !! and fit at the front of the engine
