Dave, she's very nice! Great job by Menno!
Just wondering - why you did not keep original design of K1?

Paul, no futher update yet, I was busy with garage renovation + weather change (rain, low temps here...0.
Plan is to test it on my CB750K K7 and then test K7 regulator on CB550.
But, it seems to be Electrex does not work as good as stock one... more than 1V lower voltage is too much

Or, just swap 1&2 by 3&4 - quickest option

Are you sure it is 20-25mm? Not 2.0-2.5mm? I cannot imagine 20mm play

Hmm that's strange then. Maybe I should send it back to wemoto for replacement.
Will test it on my CB750 and then see

Hi all, as a part of investigation of improper charging I tried to replace stock rec+reg by combined unit from Electrex https://www.electrexworld.co.uk/acatalog/RR24.html#SID=439With stock mechanical regulator and charged battery I have 14-14,4 until 6k RPM then it drops to less than 13. When RPMs are back down, voltage again increases back. Suprisingly, with new Electrex unit it looks it charges less than stock. I have 13-13,3V but stable level. Measured with lights on. Anybody with experience with Electrex RR24? Is that normal behaviour? Strange is that accroding to their website, CB500K or CB550K is not listed on this product, but I assume regulators are the same for CB500K1/2, CB550K1 and also CB550F CB500K3. The same unit they sell for CB750

Graham, thanks for your opinion, I start to feel the same now ![Smiley :)](http://www.sohc.co.uk/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
I managed to have another coil (from 550F 1976) to test - result is no change, plug 2 still darker than others.
Next: waiting for intake manifold to replace mine w/o grooves. Carbs will go off again, so time to re-check around air screw (did not checked before). if no improvement, I'll try to look at another carb set ![Undecided :-\](http://www.sohc.co.uk/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)
After some time update : - intake manifold replaced (thanks Phil again!) - carbs checked again, especially around air screw on carb 2 Result - no change, plug 2 still darker than others. Next: will try to tune airscrew (now all 4 are still at standard settings 1.5turns out). For this would be great to have good RPM meter, I have one digital from China, but not good for this application as it refreshes each 1s (I think) and rpms resolution seems to be +/- several tens.. Can someone recommend good sensitive RPM meter for idle?

Have the same rule now, knowing each time I fill the tank, I ride ~125 miles I switch to reserve, so at 100 miles I should look at petrol station

Heh, this trick I know pretty well, saved me with my 750 K7 twice, but trird time did not helped, petrol was barely for 2km only and I ended up in the middle of the highway bridge in Bratislava, right at morning peak traffic, creating big traffic jam ![](https://emoji.tapatalk-cdn.com/emoji849.png) Fortunaty my collegue coming by saved me after I called him to bring bottle of gasoline,
