Love it :o

I saw your RD horn bracket on your 400, I think it was you wasn't it? Looked brilliant and I clocked that you'd said you printed it. I was in the LC club for a while, had a belter of an LC but sold it to pay the rent one month :-[ :-[ :'(    as you do!

If only we'd had these printers back then i could have printed some gold to buy more pistons for it, it was ace ;D

Realistically, yes but the times don't lie I guess. I was under the impression that it was down to available octane, higher rates etc but I'm no chemist.         One of the boys on here will more than likely be able to explain it or why I'm wrong but that was the gist of our thoughts at the time. Admitted, I wasn't even aware of the E5, E10 thing back then (5+years) ago,it was always assumed that the Super bit meant it was the better, sooper jooce to treat the bike to up the strip. I'm a bit older, fartier and fanatical now I own two older hondas' as well as the beloved VFR, she'll pretty much run on anything but the old girls I want to be treated as best as I can, as you do.
They've managed to live this long and I don't want to be the pillock to knacker them by using the wrong anything, fuel included. ::)

180 mile 'trapse' about Somerset and Wiltshire today. T

Three cups of tea, two ciggies and a rather handsome egg butty later, which I might add, was a 'proper one' which managed to run down my hand and into my cuff just like an egg butty should.
My Dad always said "it's an egg butty unless its dripping off yer elbow..." and Rose (VFR) is back in the shed to catch her breath. Lovely days riding with good pals, good roads and some welcome late sun.

600+ bends and 600+ smiles...............Never gets dull does it?

When I used to rag the VFR up the strip up at 'Shaky' the times were always a bit better when there was super in the tank as opposed to the normal unleaded. Not sure if it's a chemical process thing or a mind thing but always filled up on the way in to make sure we had a full tank for the racing 8)

Well that's p@*sed on my chips for sure ;D ;D ;D

I'm in utter awe of what you can do and have achieved on the computer and printer, what a superb way to go at things, fantastic work. I was really chuffed 'fasion-ing' a bespoke reg plate holder n bracket  for the 400, I feel totally 'top trumped' LOL

So far that's a great start to a solution and fining the read really helpful as I wanted to do similar with the one I have ready to start in the shed, (currently parts collecting). Huge food for thought and a great topic. Keep us up to speed on how you're getting on.

Skills!!!

PS:- Im with Ken, dont 'diss' Brembos' ;D

I looked at that but if the chap has the brain to think that system up and manufacture the rest to such a mint standard you would have thought he's been through the pro's and cons enough to know whats not a goer and what is.

Wonder what the weight distribution is like now as that's a lot of metalwork up front. Mind you with no frame and other changes (everywhere) I bet he's  been through everything and off set some stuff against other bits to keep it somewhere like the original. Id love to see more of it from different angles, its ace.

Is that a Falco motor or an RSV Mille lump? I love the exquisite engineering on that, I bet it's an utter pig to service mind? You can't get anywhere near the motor to get at it. Never the less, what a fantastic bike and clearly the obsession of someone whos totally got the concept and has the physics in his head to make it.........clever chap(ess) ;) :)

Stunner!

I know its a full concurs resto but what a beautiful thing!  :)
Even then they knew how to build a bike, loving the reverse exhaust ported engine. Ace build quality and looks to go with it  :)

Loving the RD behind too :o

I've had a few off him in the last few weeks, hard to tell the difference from the OE tbh, spot on and highly recommended.

I've used RS several times over the years through resto's of several LC's, Ducati 853, GT550 and my current VFR VTEC and their matches have been spot on although a bit dear but you pay for what you get and I cant fault the matches in the slightest. Best to speak to them than email but a good bunch and well worth a chat with.

Now that looks like Julie is very practiced with a ruler IMO, no idea why of course.

Naughty step for you Ken! ;) ;D

Feel your pain. I’m currently dealing with a very, very stubborn float bowl drain screw that shows no signs of yielding despite the use of heat, penetrating fluid and a custom screwdriver fashioned to fit the slot full depth and width. There has to be a way?

Put your screwdriver on the screw apply pressure but don't gorilla it or it will just distort and knacker. With a small hammer or heavy 'ish' screwdriver, ( I have a 4oz machinists hammer). whilst providing said pressure just tap the end of the driver repeatedly, (not hard and ) and try to keep tapping for a couple of minutes. It'll come, if it doesn't just repeat.
Sometimes they give up easily, sometimes it may take a couple of goes but it worked a treat for me on pretty much every welded shut screw and bolt on mine.

Im not saying beat the granny out of it but a constant percussive force no matter how weak will dislodge it  in the end. 'Penetrating oil a go go' I hasten to add.............
