Do you mean this seal? AE1967E

The parts book only shows the complete unit and not the seal as a separate item.

Spindle and plug out today.  :)
Put the speedo drive in the freezer for a couple of hours then applied a bit of heat to the casing then tapped out the spindle with my newly acquired spindle removal tool!! Came out quite easy, only a few light taps.

Circlip is out, gear wheel is out, little screw is out, but I can't get the spindle / plug out, any ideas?

I'm looking for some advice on my speedo drive. I would like to strip and clean up. Has anyone got any tips on getting it apart? Little screw comes out easily enough but where do I go from there without butchering it?

By little screw I don't mean the one in the picture, it's a very small one out of view.

Great thread Julie. I use it quite often for reference and probably will do through out my build. Thanks.  :)

Thanks Julie / Hairy,

I was looking at getting bronze off Frank, but he's just messaged me saying he hasn't got any. I do have some plastic ones and was wondering if it was worth fitting them as they are more likely to wear rather than the pivot which are few and far between.

Hi,

The swing arm collar seems 'loose' in the bushes. Not sure whether it's worn over the years.

Does anyone know the spec / tolerances for the collar?

Wouldn't like to be too specific about who did the work because he doesn't like to advertise, he'd rather go on reputation.  ;) ;) :D :D :D
Expensive? I'm happy with what I paid for the work done, not just the fin damage but the whole package, and especially in the timescale.  :) :)
