CB750 / Re:F1 or F2 or what?
« on: March 06, 2006, 07:40:45 AM »
Looks a bit of all sorts. the brakes look F2, the exhaust hanger on the right hand side is F1 so I would assume that the frame is F1 also, the rear brake resovoure is F2, The twin disc arrangement on the front is most likley and F2 front end.

I've no idea what the swing arm is, it's a box section one, so not F1 or F2. don't recognise the wheels either.

The engine is black, the F1 engine was unpainted. with it being black this does not mean it is F2, it could have been painted later.

Cars are those like on the F2.

CB750 / Re:'75 CB750 High Idle Speed
« on: February 23, 2006, 08:36:52 AM »
Hi Howard, Welcome to the site,

I take it from your terminology (gas, petcock etc) your from the USA. Nice to have you aboard.

Hi idle can happen when the Idle speed was set when the engine wasn't warm enough. It wouldn't hurt to go for a good run and then set the idle speed, just turn it a little at a time. It may mean you have to wait a little longer for it to warm up.

Send a picture gallery@honda-sohc.co.uk with some details and I'll put it in the gallery

CB750 / Oil filter Spring
« on: January 16, 2006, 02:14:18 PM »
I'm rebuilding me CB750 F engine from a box of bits, and have come to fit the oil filter and notice from the parts book that there should be a spring.

Well I can't find one in my box of bits. Could someone post a photo or at least give me the dimensions so I know what I'm looking for.

I had two complete engines so I should have two somewhere.

Lead acid batteries are never shipped with acid by any courier/postal service.

Normally for a small fee a auto shop will fill it for you.

Right I'm probably going to upset a few people here and maybe even flamed, but I'm going for it anyway.

IMHO, most of these guys are fair weather riders that in the last 3 years only had about 3 hours worth of riding experence.

You know the ones, matching, leathers, matching bike, matching pillion dolly, 35 to 40, helmet on brain off.

Suprised he was even out this time of year. Most seem to hibenate in September only to re-surface in May

rant,rant,rant,rant,rant,rant,rant,rant,rant,.........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's better... If you are a sensibly rider that only rides in the dry, Sorry. If your a complete \"Knob 'ed\"  (Car or Biker), who thinks that getting there as fast as possible with no consideration for other road users is important - Get a life, better still get off the road.

What are you talking about John?

Are you suffering from forum confusion?

You might have to moderate that away (what's it got to do with finding neutral when at a standstill?)

Is my face red, , Sorry, don't know what I was thinking of. I easily confused

That's the way it should be, there's nothing worse than dropping a bike bike while trying to turn it round, then finding out youv'e done

I had a look on the engine casing I have spare and it looks as though it threads in as far as it can, there isn't a seal. and as you can see from the rust line in the photo, don't screw all the way down
