6mm helicoil tap that came with kit
put a bid of threadlock round helicoil and put it back in does not look promising the tap just slides in now cant cut it any more .... gutted tried to put exhaust back on and nope just pulls out helicoil stretches it so need another plan...... the walls of the head are not cut, almost like the tap has just made it smooth and not actually cut a thread, 49

well I drilled in with m6 drill, tapped and heli coiled and sure I have done something wrong
drilled in length of bolt that snapped, not gone all the way through ( should I ) tapped it m6 by 1mm tap and then put in helicoil, stud replacement set( bought of ebay ) when you put in stud it pulls out helicoil any recommendations... this is last part of bike and this is not right I can nearly pull out helicoil with my fingers just noticed m6 tap just slides into hole getting close to splitting this bike 50

its a problem they are aware of mick, just have your invoice ready if you can, they will send you out a new set of headers
expecting mine today........ I was sure something not right..... number 2 header no matter what you do it will just not fit, its too short by at least a couple of inches 56

I know where bitsa is coming from but originals are not only expensive but hard to get, I have 3 out of the 4 originals
I know dave silvers are now doing 4 into 4 but there still repros and no reviews as of yet so motad, yes not a great fit but whats the alternative ? 800 plus vat for repro set or wait a few years to get originals ( if they turn up ) 4 kids here and a mortage and hours cut to 24...... priorities have kicked in |
