Yes, the main differences I have noticed are that the Ducati steers superbly, stops rapidly and accelerates really quickly!, the Honda 750 4 does none of these things very well!, 🙂, (it’s OK I’m just trying bait Hairy git), in fairness the 750 is from a different era so can be excused it’s dynamic inferiority.
If you compare the monster to one of its Honda contemporaries then in most respects the Honda is superior, I’m thinking Fireblade of course (maybe swapping bike genres a little but you get my point).

PS to the disgracefully rude so called “bikers” that had the temerity to criticise my bikes silencers you’ll be pleased to know that the carbon cans are in the post.

I’ll second that!

On my 900ss I have high level carbon cans , they have exit reducers fitted rather than full baffles, when I change gear or throttle off it makes that “Bwoarrrr” sound as in the video you posted, it’s a really evocative and addictive sound, (I just have to be careful not to throttle off if there’s any police around!).

I’m guessing that’s the left hand mirror, I left it a bit loose because I had to fold it every time I put it in the garage to get it close to the wall 🙂, it never folded on me though ,you’re riding it too fast!, just tighten the Allen bolt!, yes mpg is good, I never properly checked what it was doing but well over 50mpg is my guess, told you it got quick above 7k 👍, and let Dave have a go, you’re hogging it 🙂

I got soaked taking it for an MOT before they called for it, but that was an 8 mile round trip, not 350!, I’ve never seen leather gloves that waterlogged before, must’ve weighed 5lb each 😄

Green1 (Mick) and his dad (Dave) came round buy my EX650R today, all the way from Essex to Derby in the rain, hats off to them, the Duck sticker on the fairing was quite apt given the weather conditions!, good to meet you both again 👍

Yes it’s the bike that saved Ducati financially, agree with your comments, I’m genuinely impressed with the way it handles/goes, I’d never been a fan of the way they look but a couple of weeks ago I looked at one in Matlock and thought, I like that!, maybe it’s because they are old enough now to have developed something of a classic look but anyway I’m a convert now 🙂

Brilliant bike,  I think it's one of the best bikes I've ridden. Fabulous in red too.
Surprisingly good aren’t they K2, go really well and so flickable!, I think I might actually prefer it to my 900ss, and I love that!, also I thought I’d miss the great low speed handling of my EX650R which I’ve sold to buy this, but it does that brilliantly as well, never ridden one before, so far it’s been pleasant surprises, front suspension is maybe a little over firm but not massively so.

There’s a fugly can on the other side as well!, yes I’ll probably fit high level carbon cans, the ones on it are the originals and are a bit, erm, large 🙂, sound nice though!, now I have noticed that some of the replies on this thread are a little rude, it’s very rare to see such responses on this forum which I would normally regard as a league of gentlemen (and ladies Julie), I’m not going lower myself to respond to such drivel, I put that down to my “happy go #@%$ yourself nature” 🙂

I picked up this 1996 Monster yesterday, it was the dirtiest bike I’ve ever seen!, he’d had the belts done, changed the wheel bearings, starter motor, clutch plates, fitted new chain and sprockets done the oil change but had ridden on a daily basis since last August including through the winter on his 50 mile commute and never once cleaned it, I recon he could’ve gotten £500 more than I gave him simply by presenting it better on EBay (where it didn’t sell), anyway I’ve got the worst of it off and I can now confirm there’s a reasonabley nice M900 under all that muck 🙂, loads of tarting up and cleaning still to do but here it is, by the way [ Guests cannot view attachments ] superb fun to ride I recommend everyone to get one!

Rob, I asked Sam to treat the bike gently on the Dyno, I wasn’t interested in how much power it was making just was the fuelling safe, he took it up to 7750 revs, max power was 54bhp if I remember correctly, he said it would have made more with a less restrictive silencer but who knows, I figured that Honda would have been lying about the original claimed 67bhp and it would have been measured at the crank, so in reality CB750’s probably make just over 60bhp at the crank, add in a few bhp to my results to compensate for it being measured as RWHP and it wasn’t far off what it should have been making.
