I remember on many occasions being legless in the Night Owl nightclub in Penally, Wales......then going on the Royal Artillery Ranges firing Missiles out to sea........but I never managed to hit Canvey Island once!

What a beauty.....I will never forget seeing my first CB400F at a Motorcycle Show at Belle Vue in Manchester......ruby red with gold striping on the tank.....and those four splendiferous sweeping exhaust pipes......just absolutely ferkin gorgeous.

I have to admit that my passion is big bikes with dirty great stonking back tyres (or I don't feel safe), but if I was to buy a small bike....it would probably be a CB400F....or a CB72....or a CB77....or a CB92........I know that you'll forgive my ranting.......

The secret of successful House Hunting is to use Rightmove to save your legs and to find a really knowledgeable Estate Agent who has been around forever and tell him/ her EXACTLY what you are looking for and EXACTLY what you DON'T want. Let them get on with it and do the donkey work. You will be amazed at what they turn up cos they don't like time wasters either and will go all out to get a sale once they know what you want.

Welcome to the Forum Jim. You'll probably get lots of requests to buy rare HONDA bits and bobs when you return from Japan....so be prepared.......and buy a big suitcase as those HM300/341 Exhaust systems are a bit on the large side!

My Missus worked for Lufthansa many years ago and many of her Colleagues visited Hong Kong, paying for their Holiday by buying silk (and other exotic fabrics) there to order for friends and relatives back home. Their trick was to take a case which was virtually empty, and fill it with clothes for the return trip.

Once, we holidayed in Bali courtesy of Missus winning a free Business Class Flight and a cheap deal at the Hilton. All was well until she spotted some lovely Cushions in a swanky shop.........which she somehow managed to squeeze into our luggage. I remember chucking them out some years later - unused - when we moved house!

CB750 / Re: CB750 carb rebuilding
« on: September 07, 2015, 10:19:55 AM »
I could certainly benefit from getting my K4 Carbs cleaned...........God knows when my bike last ran, or how it ran. When I stripped them off the bike and opened up the float bowls, I was astonished at the crap that was in there. One of the Floats has simply disintegrated......I quickly put the bowls back on and decided it 'was a job for later'. LYD (Like you do).

Where are you based?

Are there no Aluminium Welders near you? I had a T120 with broken crankcases - at the front where the mounting bolt goes through. Spent ages trying to find a good Aluminium Welder......after a year a chance remark from my Neighbour found a great fella only 10 miles from me.....problem solved. I know that you would have to strip the engine out and recut the thread for the oil filter......but its better than scrapping the complete motor. P.S. How on earth did that damage occur?

I had a Honda CB750F2........a Japanese Import from Bat Motorcycles in Biggin Hill which had a 4 into 1 Titanium exhaust.......sounded great but still weighed a ton. One of the few bikes I sold at a profit I'm sad to say.

The English translation worked fine for me when I clicked on the Union Jack logo. A very good site and prices seem to be fair. Thanks for posting.

Oooooooh the Oil Tank is wonderful. I particularly like the side indents and strengthening ribs from corner to corner. Keep the photos coming please as it looks like it's going to be a fantastic bike.

Splendid bike Julie....good luck with the sale (bike and house). Where are you moving to.....and will you miss the 'glow' of Dungeness? We looked at houses a few years ago around Cooling/ Rochester/ Sittingbourne etc.....good value at the time until I read the BBC Kent website and uncovered page after page of passengers complaints about the rail service into London......there must have been 25 plus pages. Rapid change of plan and we ended up in Worthing.........still a 1 1/2 hour train journey but pretty reliable.

Lovely bikes, and a credit to you......I had a Suzuki T500 in 1975.....I rode across Canada and the US (Toronto to Banff). 6000 miles in 3 weeks and it never missed a beat. When I bought it new, the bike had an intermittent misfire and I had it back to the Dealer umpteen times......in the end I threatened to give him the bike back. He left it running in a corner of the garage and he noticed that in the shadows he could see the spark plug covers (galvanised steel) arcing against the frame rails under the tank. He simply cut off the covers - problem solved!

Hope you get your misfire sorted OK.
