It was a joke mate. That's why i wrote, not to be so heavy handed. A 3/8 drive torque bar is needed.

Slacken off all the tappets so they are not compressing the valves. Not sure where you live, but if it's anywere near me i have a nice 3/4 drive britool torque bar that does the job. Try not to be so heavy handed.

Spot on Bryan, the above picture are 100% CB250N and CX500. The two screw's in the stem joint were a bastard to get out after a couple of years.

If you want good rim's, go for CWC British chrome. They will set you back about 100 a rim, but are well worth the money.

A OE pair of late 1970's-1980's mirror's. Those were used on more Honda model's than i can remember.

Yep, the cheap ones are like the Chinese type and only last a couple of years. I resorted a 400/4 with a DID on the rear and a Chinese on the front. The seller gave me the invoice to prove he had had the front replaced. The DID was sill in good condition, but the front rim was rusted through.

Yep, i wish i was 28 again. I would not of binned all those CX500 parts. At that time Chasbikes moved from Greenwich and they filled 3 skips full of parts. And i turned him down on a scrap deal for them  :'(.

Just remembered that Cruzinimage did me a nice set of carb intake rubbers for CB550F at about £15, and they came with the clamps.

They seem too cheap, but i did get a piston and ring set off them a year ago for a KH400. It was spot on. The last carb kit i used was from Sirius consolidate in the states .If I need another carb kit i will try the cheap Japanese. Buy one and then you can tell us if it's crap or not.

The mirror's i have Oddjob don't have a rubber insert around the glass and look identical to the OE part, but the backs are chrome, not stainless steel. Not sure if someone in the past has striped these down and chromed them up. But why would someone go to all that trouble. This is why i'm thinking they maybe off a different model.

Phil, was that 50 beer tokens per bore or all 4 ? I was charging 15 a bore back in 1995. If you got all 4 at that price, i would say you had a result.
