Someone has put resin in the tank for a reason. The last tank i had cleaned due to rust was soda blasted, with great result. Don't know if there is any chemical on the market that can shift resin or what ever it is.

Cheers Ka-Ja, that does seem logical. I have had heads vapour blasted with great results. It seems gone are the days of sand blasting, then trying to get every grain out of every oil way, putting it back together and keeping your fingers crossed.

Everyone keeps saying that ultrasonic is the best for carb cleaning. My local classic engineering firm (T&L engineering,Bedford) don't have ultrasonic cleaning, only vapour blasting. I have used T&L for some 25 years and i am very happy with the results. Has anyone ever used both methods and was the results any different?.

Forgot to write this. There are many outputs from coils. Iam sure Dyna do many .3 ohm,.5 ohm,.7 ohm and i think the highest is about 1.5 ohm. All these will reflect on the price.

They are bloody expensive. The last ones i fitted to my sons 400/4 were about £30 from DSS.

Looks good to me, but need to get up close and personal with it. Depends what they are looking for it? I've bought many bike's just from photo's, sent a courier, and found it has the wrong switch gear. The thing's to look at on any old bike is that it runs sweet, all chrome is good and double check everything. Many bike's that come from the states have had the clock tampered with or replaced. So look at the bike, not the mileage.

Looks as you have your hands full Mike. It will be worth it in the end. I am OK on engines and carbs, my week point as always been electrics, which i will tackle in the new year.

My best quote this year was just a tad over £50 with the post office. What you must put to any insurance company is "I can only ride one bike at a time".Insurance is down to risk, and the best security is a mad dog in the garage at night but insurance company's will not except. Best advice, have a good look around and don't let them sell you something you don't want.

Cheers mike, there's loads of powder coaters round here. Can't find one that does Super Chrome, and will it be any good on wheel hubs?.
