CB350/400 / Re: Rim Strip or Duct Tape
« on: July 24, 2019, 10:57:54 AM »
The cost of freight would outweigh the low initial cost I think but thanks for the info..
Yes Julie, I thought it was Rim Tape but it seems they like to call them Rim strips down here.. goodness knows why.
I have found the Michelin ones here but they are to suit 2.15 - 3" which is OK for the rear... maybe I will check out the other ones after all or just set myself to using Duct Tape.

CB350/400 / Rim Strip or Duct Tape

Finally getting around to starting on the CB400 and gathering a few items I know I will need.. including tyres and tubes... but... I was wondering what are peoples preference... Rim Strips sized correctly (hard to find apparently) of Heavy Duty Duct tape?

I am not sure I trust Duct tape that much... well mabey the reinforced stuff would be OK

Very nice bike... they were / are quite popular down here... things to be careful of... blown head gaskets on the rear head from overheating (might not be such a big issue in the UK) and Syncing the carbies.. otherwise service as normal and enjoy.. :)

Should be no need to inhale... simply insert said piece of tube into the liquid and put a finger over the end. you should be able to lift out however much is in the tube as long as you keep your finger sealed on the end.
At least that is the theory..... :)

That is perfect and a great read.... wouldnt it be good to have a Dyno in the back yard that allowed you to run full and part throttle :)

Announcements / Re: New Knee
« on: May 04, 2019, 10:24:09 AM »
It does get better... I am doing Exercise Physio as well as normal Physio so I am at the gym once a week for an hour or so... doing stuff like squats, lunges and then leg presses to get strength back..
Kneeling isnt much fun but I can do it.. my only problem is I still have a bit of fluid around the knee and still have a large section which has no feeling at all.. which is really strange. I have certain exercises they want me to do that I need to be on my knees for.. bridges etc.. I dont like them much but figure they must be good for me.. :)
Stairs get easier... I find them pretty simple now but they are much easier in shoes than bare feet.. go figure huh..

I am just over 6 months from my knee replacement and going great guns.. I think my Physio said I was 1.5 degrees off being completely straight which is pretty much the same as the other leg.. exercise and physio makes all the difference.. I am pretty much off all pain killers now and so glad I had mine done.. keep up with the exercises and dont listen to anyone who tells you no pain, no gain.. they are wrong... only push to where you are comfortable.. dont try and push it harder, you end up going backwards... small steps :)

Personally I think Julies build thread is as good a reference as you would want... lots of pictures and good, accurate descriptions.. when I finally get to mine that will be my reference tool.

CB750 / Re: TANK LINER REMOVAL

Older Radiator shops have really good dipping tanks... I had a tank done here and it was in there for 10 days.. when it cam out he checked for pinholes and soldered up anything that looked suspect.
