I bought them separately -

Q2M Prep - https://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/collections/gyeon/products/gyeon-q2m-prep
Q2M Cure - https://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/collections/gyeon/products/gyeon-q2m-cure

It is expensive as I said but at the moment I think its worth every penny

Has anyone ever tried Silica based polish?

I have just had a go on two of my bikes petrol tanks, its a multi stage process with a cleaning agent first then the polish then a curer. I used a polish called Gyeon Q2 CanCoat, its expensive but you only use a very small amount so it goes a long way - https://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/collections/silica-based-coatings/products/gyeon-q2-cancoat

Have to say in over 45 years of polishing the life out of bikes and cars it is the most impressive polish I have ever come acrossj it imparts a really deep wet look shine and is very easy to apply and polish. On the Gold Wing it has actually made the colour look deeper.

I cant get good photo's on my crappy phone but I am really pleased with the results -

Hopefully its protective qualities will be just as good as its finish but at present I would definitely recommend it, if the weather clears I am going to have a go on my car.

....and try the apico easy clutch..

Hi, I tried one of them on my GL1000, whilst it did lighten the clutch a little it reduced the throw considerably to the extent that when the engine was warm it would clunk into first gear and make finding neutral difficult, ended up removing it.

As a simple illustration of charisma that will never be matched by an electric motor https://youtu.be/QtUEPwHnxmU

Thats one of my favourite YouTube clips of all time, the noise is almost animal like just fantastic.

The raw torque and power of electric motors I must admit does appeal to me but in terms of riding and driving experience I dont think you will ever beat a powerful IC motor

I was surprised by the price of the CBX being so much higher than the GoldWing etc. No wonder they didn't sell as many.

Notice how it stayed the same in 79 whereas a lot of other bikes had a price hike so they must have realised they had pushed the price a little too high.

I remember paying the £1995 for my K2 GL1000 in 1978 which was a lot of money to me then and I was on a good wage so £2750 was the realm of rich kids.

The last vehicle I sold privately was in 1987! it was an MGB GT that I had fitted a bored out, Holley carb, hot camshaft 3.9 ltr Rover V8, 5 speed gearbox, 3.0 LTR Capri rear axle, competition brakes and suspension etc, after spending a fortune I wanted just £2.5k for it, here are some of the questions and responses -

'Is it good petrol wise'? I looked at him and said if you are careful you might get 12 MPG, he was dumbfounded and walked away very quickly, what did he expect!

Looking at his souped up 1.3 Ltr MK2 Escort, 'I bet its not as fast as that', the screams from him as I snaked off the line on the test run where pitiful!

Coming all the way from Ireland to take a look and telling me the most he could pay was £1400 as 'thats all its worth in Ireland' I just walked away and shut the door.

Then their was the chap who wanted to beat me down because 'It was no longer to original spec'

'How cheap is it to insure and do you have to tell them its got a V8' well I guess thats up to you but expect to pay a lot for what it is, he looked at me and said 'why'?

'I have two kids do you think they will fit in the back' yes but the battery and fuel cell might make it a bit uncomfortable, he looked in the back and I could see he was thinking about it carefully.

It just went on, eventually I sold it for £2000 and the guy promptly wrote it off two weeks later then tried to blame me for fitting such a powerful engine, I have never since sold any vehicle privately.

It is a UK bike, I think the seat is original, its a metal pan (which was as rusty as the rest of the bike!) with the document store and tool roll holder.

Looking at this picture the grab rail on my bike is definitely wrong as Johnny4428 suggests, the original has a more pronounced upward curve at the back -

Bit of a mystery why a PO would choose to change to this one, like the rest of the bike it was rusty as hell so it didnt seem to be a new replacement

Edit - just occurred to me, someone had also drilled the rear mudguard to move the light cluster further up 'US style' which would obviously foul the standard grab rail, I wonder if they then found a shorter grab rail to suit, muppet! At some point I want to replace the rear mudguard to original as well.

Yes its a bit of a mystery and obviously off another bike. I didnt notice until I had it chromed and put it back on the bike, I actually went back to my original photos to check in case Agbrigg Chroming had sent me the wrong one. As it is it is useless as you cant get your fingers round it, not had any luck trying to find an original.

Unless of course the seat is wrong  :)

Thank you! After messing about with flake I have found that the colour from RS-Bike Paints has enough sparkle in it for my taste and I am really pleased with how the bike looks in its new colour.
