Anyone hear of this one.

A friend of mine went thru a MDs drive in today, when he got to the kiosk they refused to serve him because he was on his bike - The child behind the till reckoned it was because they weren't insured.

I'm looking ar my old wheels and thinking, it would be nice if the were shinyer, they are in good condition, just loosing their chrome,

Is it cheaper to replace and respoke, or get it replated

CB500/550 / Re: how hot is too hot, air cooled engines
« on: June 08, 2009, 04:53:44 PM »
I love our language  - "It also smelled "hot"", but I know what you mean, as long as you're moving forward, it generally isn't a problem, it's being sat in traffic and only move a couple of inches an hour.

I remember once, when we used to have hot summers, on an early Yam 350LC - in black leather (me not the bike), sat in traffic in the middle of town, I had to pull over and cool off because it was just to unconforable having somthing that hot between your legs.

Welcome Davey,

Someone here will be able to help.. In my experience damp problems tend to be plug caps shoring in the damp.

BTW
I used to have a scooter too, I bought a PX125 Vespa when that model first came out. loved it 175 big bore kit, 28mm del delorto carb, cut down leg shields. - Brilliant

This weekend in and around Lincoln see a Silver/Grey CB350(ish) not sure what, as it was doing some agressive filtering in my direction, a yellow 400/4 and a Beut of a 750 on a T plate at Hemswell Market

Wasn't this the Brough Superior, after all they used to boast about it doing 100mph as part of the sales pitch

Other Bikes / Little End rattle
« on: April 30, 2009, 01:30:37 PM »
On the DOHC CB650, I'm developing a rattle when the throttle shut, particulaly when going up the gears, or when the thottle is shut off when changing down when comming to a stop.

Is this beginning of small end wear?

CB350/400 / Re: CAM CHAIN ADJUSTER BOLT BROKEN
« on: April 28, 2009, 06:51:43 AM »
Don't drill it, I take it you mean the locking nut for the plunger and not the mounting bolts for the tensioner assembly, I would remove the assembly from the engine, makes it easier to work on, try and free the locking nut.

At worst replace the whole assembley

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-CB750-cam-chain-tensioner_W0QQitemZ370112035577QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item370112035577&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

It's a bugger to remove with the engine in, but possible.

Just realised te link is to a CB750 one - proably not the same - my bad
