My brother is a service tec for shitfit and there strict on MOT's at his branch and more so on fleet cars as they know they will pay to have the work done.
The 45min to MOT is a bit overkill really as you can normally tell if something is a pass or fail just by talking to the customer and a quik look around the car.
Its normally the branch manager after the bonus putting to much work on the tec's and testers while the fitters are normally sitting on there rear ends waiting for tyre jobs.
If a car is serviced by the book in kwikfit it can take hours and there is no way they can get them all through the door.

There are some branches I know to avoid and there are some that can be more compatent then main dealers

The garage I used to take cars and bikes to has now sadly closed they knew me and my vehicles well and they would pass before I had walked into the office and turned the kettle on.

+1 for a CG or GS cheap as chips and both are bullet proof but no street cred.

One thing I learnt with insurance companies is don't go third party only.
I was hit head on in my first year of driving by a car on the wrong side of the road.
Luckily I was driving a Transit at the time but I can confirm Vauxhall  Zafiras are quit hard.
My insurance company at the time said as its your first year and your third party only you will never win.  :o
After that my insurance went sky high on bikes and cars for years afterwards.
I was paying £1800 on a van worth £800 and almost £1000 on my Pegaso at 18. That was a lot to find when on minimum wage.

And another i nice original condition >>> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-Yzf-600-Thundercat-1998-Black-Low-Mileage/132942749273?hash=item1ef4015e59:g:QqoAAOSwtINcWcnC:rk:19:pf:0

The only thing i have found that is a weak point is the down pipes rot so, a good set of SS is advisable. Sticking brake pistons if it has been stilling for a while. That is the only problem i have ever had with mine in the past 3 years, also good on fuel  ;)

I was just looking at that one looks a nice bike. Brakes have always been an issue on Yams

A mate of mine is looking for a daily rider to commute 60mile a day but with a tiny budget of £800
He is a big old lump so no small bikes. When I asked what he wanted he didn't really know as hes new to bikes and he said something CBR'ish.
I'm thinking of something like a teapot.

Anyone know off or got something hiding in there garage?

Tought one I do the same kind of miles on all my bikes and don't have a favourite as they all have there pros and cons depending on the type of journey.
