I already used it on valve cover...
Will let you know how it behaves over time

I've changed the oil and ran it again. No more metal.. must have been the kickstart (Phew).

I'm still waiting on some things before I can ride it. I've ordered a dual 'airbox' which is almost like pods but nicer from but it hasn't arrived yet. No point in trying to tune it before they arrive, and I know they don't run as well without the stock airboxes so I won't be asking for advice on Jetting or tuning on here!
I have gone up to 40 on pilot  and 110 on mains though which should put me in the ballpark before I embark on plug chops etc

I need to fabricate a plate bracket which will have to be side mounted.

I need to get the exhaust tip welded onto the reducer and the bracket mount to the pipe. Can't be riding it with it all hanging from the studs.

Aaaand I've just sent details through to footmanjames for an agreed value insurance quote.

Here's a picture just after I recently ran it, It does have the righthand foot controls on now.  I was too excited to film anything but I will post a video up soon. And yes I know the points cover is upside down.

Normally I'm not big fan of modded bikes but this one I like - very clean just bare minumim needed. Very nice!

And wondering - you cancelled rear brake?

Maype PO riding while kickstart lever was in position with engaged gear?

Thanks, I have big label with plenty of waring/safety instructions (SK translations) stuck on the can that overlaps instructions, need to peel it off

If I can ask - where did you buy that tool?

I'll be working on my engine probably next winter so I want to prepare myself ;)

Will re-open this thread to not create another one

I'm searching for paint solution too (to paint my "new" refurbished valve cover). Did not find recommened Simonitz nearby, just in UK (shipping+customs duties+vat...), so was looking for something here.
Found this product (Nu-Castâ„¢ Aluminum color).
Does anybody by chance have experience with it please?

Manufacturer seems to be division of Dupli-Color, so probably equivalent to their product

CB500/550 / Muffler connect rubber insert - alternative?
« on: March 31, 2021, 09:08:29 PM »
Just found that inserts in rubber connecting muffler ends on CB500/550K are broken into pieces. Rubbers are still good.
Honda sells it as kits (rubber+insert) - did anyone find good alternative to OEM inserts?

Looks to me kind of plastic or asbestos ring?

Maybe thick gasket material would do the job?

Any advice welcome

Wish to have spares to build bike like that too, post some photos once on the road

CB500/550 / Part identification (is it from Honda CB?)
« on: March 14, 2021, 01:03:20 PM »
Found this on the floor in my garage when doing cleaning. Seems I'm getting older as my brain cannot retrieve it from memory, just recall I had it in my hands some time ago

Do you know if this part is from Honda CB? (550K1 or 750K7).
It can also be from Skoda car (carb)...
