Are things beginning to get back to normal?
« on: July 23, 2020, 05:53:13 PM »
After a five month wait I finally received a call from the plater to advise some of my zinc plating and polishing was ready for collection. The quality of the work was worth the wait especially for the £40 he charged me, top job as always. The chrome items are now in the process of refinishing as well.
The plater hasn't been off work during this period but actually snowed under with work some of it involving plating valves for the NHS ventilators needed during the pandemic.

Those bits look great - definitely worth the wait.
I think everyone is on long lead times at the moment - dropped off some forks at Philpotts and they estimate around 8 weeks, chrome guy is 3-4 months and painter is anything up to 4 months - all have been working throughout but just snowed under with other work alongside the bike stuff it seems.
Still, I guess it takes the pressure off the bits we have to do ourselves.
Cheers,
Andy
