I'll put a cat among the Pigeon's here! Maybe, after paying what was an incredible  amount of money for the Brighton bike, the new owner wanted to ride it, but decided to remove the original parts and store them, so if it does come a cropper on the road, the original parts are still safely stashed? Just an alternative line of thought!

Indeed a valid point but would you really turn up at an event of such importance with wrong / modern / pattern parts fitted......i think not.

Depends if it was ridden there or taken in a van, the frame number is what signifies it's origin. To a non Honda fan, it looks clean and shiny, but the owner knows the significance of the bike.

I do take your point but why absolutely zero interest in the original master cyl. from it or the carbs? It was taken there in a van. Talking to him I think he had a lot of hassle getting it to run as signified by the blued downpipe.

Awards involving a subjective assessment will often be called into question, after all we all have different tastes, but any award that could lead to the suggestion of favouritism should have been avoided.
However, it was a great day out, blessed with superb weather and a chance to meet and talk with some very nice people apart from the disrespectful individual who put his coffee cup on my petrol tank.

That's inexcusable.
I had a go at an arse who leant on my headlight during the prize giving. I didn't moan at Mr. Seeley though when he leant on my seat ::) ;D

Great day Saturday and good to meet up with Ash and Cathy again.
So nice to have so many friendly people in one place ,just so nice that everyone seemed to talk to anyone.
DS staff seemed really helpful whether me be allowed to rummage through their second hand spares for 175 bits to
letting us have some space inside and tools to sort out my mates Sandcast that had decided to run on 2 cylinders on his way up from Sussex.
Phone battery went flat so did.nt get any pictures, hoping the video may show the bike .

YLH 70H Press bike and UK Brochure bike ...Pulled from the clutches of the Bonhams auction 'cos they sold it on 'discretion' that they didn't officially have from the owner !!  Such low numbers were imported to start with that the VIN is quite a bit later than Mick's (kettle738) and my red K0. So Honda UK must have waited for the second batch to arrive before  compiling the literature and letting the press loose on one.
