Is this the normal way to start the old girl?
« on: July 02, 2004, 01:05:49 AM »
To start my bike I have to kick it over as it refuses to start from cold on the elctric start. I have to open the throttle fully, put on the chokes and give her a good kicking, after two or three kicjs she fires up on full throttle to which I have to shut down the throttle quickly and close the chokes and then manually adjust the tickover to approx 1500 rpm until she is warm and then we are off. Is this normal?

Sounds to me like a battery problem. Not enough juice to supply a stong enough spaeck to start a cold engine AND turn the starter moter over.
