But what with lock down and stuff, I'm running out of decent projects.

Lovely well documented restoration. Also very envious of the snow. All we got here was 2 mm of wet slush that lasted 1 hour.

Very similar to Z50R forks. The bike came to me with one chromed lower part, the other missing, and the one I had was badly bent, I was Toolmaking at the time so I put some Galvo pipe in the cylindrical grinder and ground it round and made new nylon fork bushes to suit. That was when my eldest was 1, she's 30 now with her own 18 month old son, I still have the bike so when he's a little older...

Aye, those forks are certainly not Honda's finest design.

Some of you that have worked in Honda franchised dealers in the 70's will remember the forks on PF50's and stuff, they used to seize up solid with salt and crap in the winter months.

The bodge was to drill tiny holes in them and squirt in WD40 to free them off,  from the photos of the old forks you can see that's already been done on one side.
