Another UK CB500 K0
« on: April 02, 2022, 10:46:48 PM »
I have been fortunate to own two of these now. The first one a did about 6 years ago and i was lucky to pick another one up.
I have spent a bit of time on this and it has more Honda NOS parts which include , Clocks, seat, headlight bracket, switch gear, headlight and so on. Just waiting on the tank and panels to come back from the painter and she will be finished.

Wow looking great Graham. Any history of when/where it was sold in UK.
The NOS seat doesn't look very puffy in the quilted panels but Jason's (Woodside) NOS K0 seat was similar and also one that ChrisR imported for his K0. Mine that DS sold me is really pronounced but that was a dealer-take-off I think. Mine was welded together (sides to top)...no stitching but my original one was stitched. Perhaps it was sourcing from different factories and some had more pronounced quilting.  You can see on SteveD's US K0 seat that the rear section is more pronounced than the front ... presumably from the riders bum flattening the foam in the cover.

I watched a car resto programme last week where they took a soggy seat to Aldridge trimming in the midlands and they used steam to rejuvenate the foam. I wonder if it would be possible to inject steam into the 'panels' of Honda covers to rejuvenate them.

Seats in the UK were the flat type compared to some in USA market. I have one of those steamers but, it only gives the foam a lift and i would only use it on a seat that is stripped down. They do use a fair amount of water which would only drip down and sit on the inside of the seat pan  ;)

Great to see a smart K0 with just about all the right bits including the rare switches. I got a NOS right one cheap but have had to compromise on a left one off a CB125 I think that is for external wiring. Have you got the mirrors?

The seat foam on mine crumbles through the holes and seems an insurmountable problem.
