Measurement needed please.
« on: October 08, 2022, 07:48:43 PM »
Would anyone by chance have a set of 400 forks apart at the moment?.
I need the measurement of the depth of the recess where the fork bottom bolts go in (as per the attached photo).
Ta very much.

I make it 10.8 mm with my calipers.
Seems an unlikely depth.
I would seek a second opinion.

That's what I thought it was Ted.
Thanks for doing that.

Hi Julie,
Very strange thing,  I've just measured 2 pairs of spare sliders - one pair are 8.11 and 8.08 and the other pair are 9.95 and 9.88 and no, there are no washers stuck inside the first pair!
This is from the lowest point on the spindle curve to the seat where the damper tube bolt fits,
Confused of Orkney!

Hi Julie,
Can I ask what problem you are trying to solve?

Ian
I have a customer that is having issues with the bolts and between us we're doing some diagnostics and trying to get to the bottom of the problem Ian.

Would it be bolt heads sticking into the axle area?
