Tacho drive oil seal
« on: May 30, 2016, 08:45:46 AM »
My Tacho drive seal has sprung a leak, does anyone know where I can get one?, David silver have on in their engine oil seal kit I think but I don't want to have to buy the whole kit if I don't have to, thanks Mark.

These are prone to leak, try this first : Make sure the oil seal is all the way home by putting a long reach socket on it and give it a gentle tap.

If still leaks then PM me your address and I will pop one in the post.

Thanks very much Trigger, a Brough Superior SS100 frame with a free Honda oil seal for £150 is generous to say the least 😀 , but seriously thanks very much.

New seal fitted and no more leaky , I actually found 2 old oil seals in there!, also the land that the seal sits on had 2 drill holes in it (not all the way through) so a previous owner must have been struggling to take the old one out and decided to fit the new one over the old one 🙄, I used the self tapper through the seal trick and they came out easily.
